Thanks to all those who came for the celebration, especially the sec 4 '09. The committee for staying back after choir practices for the dance. Choir members for taking the time out to come for rehearsal on the 18 dec and taking out the effort to memorise the 3 songs.
Adrian, Shao Yan, Ming Wei, Benjamin Chia and Javan for coming on that day to help us although they are not choir members.
Special thanks to Nisa, May Fan who have helped me, by providing constructive ideas and suggestions.
Thanks to Jia Rui, Nisa, May Fan and Hui Lun for helping out with the dance.
Also thanks to the 25 sec 4 who came back to support us!
The event cannot be successful without any one of you. I appreciate all the time that you all had taken out specially for this mini concert and celebration.
Oh, not forgetting the cards that you all had written for the teachers, I hope that the teachers will like it and hope that you all enjoyed yourself on that day!~

Some of the notes and the singing style is different...But I hope that you can still check out the video and learn the pronunciation of the words (since you all always complain dunno how to pronounce) :D

You Know You are A Choir Geek If...

-You sing choir songs out of class

-You walk in step with choir songs

-Choir songs always get stuck in your head

-You have choir songs on CD or iPod

-Whenever you see someone else who takes choir you always stop them and start singing your part for a song and they sing their part

-You can sometimes/usually/always find harmonies for any song

-You know what to hold (fermata)

-You know what to hit (staccato)

-All your friends are in Choir

-You point out the time signature, key change, and dynamics when listening to the radio

-You start humming a song from three years ago and your friends join in with their respective parts

-You get annoyed when someone sings out of tune

-You can precisely point out who that was

-You laugh at all of these because you know they're all true

-You tap rhythms a lot because you are musical

- You get upset when an audience can't clap in time or on the right beats

-You use the excuse, “I can’t I have rehearsal” many times in a week

-You can tell if someone isn’t singing the right parts

-You get annoyed when you’re listening to the radio in the car and the car blinker isn’t in time with the music

-You can tell if someone is mouthing the words and not singing by looking at them

-You’ve heard the “Please practice, it’s good for you” speech many, Many times

-You hate when the sopranos totally overpower everyone else (if you’re not a soprano)

-You hate when someone else can sing higher or lower than you

-You totally strain your voice to sing a song

-When you see another Choir person in the hall you always talk about choir

-If you’re a guy you think that a middle C is high, but if you’re a girl you think that is really low

-You get frustrated with the Altos because they don’t do their parts (although you know their part is one of the hardest)

-You are mad at your choir teacher for a very long time when she changes you to a different section (even if it is only for one song)

-You know for a fact that Choir is cooler than Band and Orchestra

-You say, "Did I shine my shoes today? Yes I shined my shoes today" out loud when you bow after the concert

-If you’re a girl, you’re amazed at guys who can sing an octave under middle C, but if you’re a guy, you think it’s nothing!

-You love American Idol, but you hate it at the same time...

-You live for Karaoke!

-When you go and hang out with all your choir friends all you end up doing is listening to choir music and talking about choir.

-You download choir songs that your singing in your choir.

-You think some of the tenors have no balls.

No lah, OUR GUYS HAVE BALLS.

-You wish you heard "Happy Birthday" in tune!

-You hate when the Alto part is sung alone, 'cause it sounds so weird.

-With a bunch of choir buddies, or even on your own, you can sing ANYWHERE - on buses, trains, malls, restaurants...

-You especially like to spot mistakes when watching other choirs' concerts - "HAHA! They are flat!"

-You love singing alone because you can sing as high as you want!

-You are called or call yourself a jukebox when your with other people who can't sing.

WE DID IT, The feeling is incredible ain't it?
GOLD GOLD GOLD!
That word looks so distant from me, BUT WE CLINCHED IT!

When we knew it, we cried and jumped and screamed outside school!
Until Mr PHOR came and old us to not scream so loud that we disrupt that residents.
But we just can't take it!

WE'VE DONE ALL OURSELVES PROUD!
Getting sick for choir is worth it.
Getting all sweaty walking up and down the stairs is worth it.
(I'm still floating with all these stuffs!)
Getting all our fringes sprayed hard and tough is all worth it don't you think so?

TWO MORE WEEKS AND SYF WILL BE HERE!

Anyway, for the choir tee design i will post it here when the dealer had sent me the design, cos i gave him the initial copy. BUT, please pay first cos whether or not you have seen the design you still would have to buy it:D

Well, to say the truth i think we really did improve by jumps! From literally dead fishes AT LEAST we do put effort in singing in expressions and emphasis on dynamics. And all that choir exchanges and guests performances and maestro sessions really did help us in many ways. And now our job is to commit ourselves and come for last few practices, remember all the teenie-weenie details Miss Angila, Mr Goh and Mr Yong told us to note in our scores AND REALLY PRACTICE like you are studying for an exam!

AND, SYF is like a judging for most choirs in Singapore, so 16 April is just like our BIG BIG exam for singing, just that we are all taking it together:D

OKAY HELLO!

Believe this, Miss Angila said this is one of our best performance yet!

She said, we sing better in tune, in volume, in feelings!

Well don't get skeptical, IT'S TRUE!

We will hear it when we have our practice on Monday:D

Don't feel inferior that the songs we sing are not as complex as the other schools, or we did not sing as well as them, for all i know they are choirs who got gold at their SYFs, and FYI, VJC is one of the top JC choirs in singapore and went overseas for many competitions! So instead of getting intimidated by their songs and voices, we should look up to them and and work in a direction to be like them! And I really hope the boys are inspired by these choir to sing with MORE FEELINGS, and last point, GOOD JOB EVERYONE!

-choir tee is coming out soon, please be patient and wait while we settle some small errands and send it out for printing!

-for every practice miss angila has decided to let us walk up and down the stairs to train our diaphragm so please bring your pe attire to change before you start perspiring and feel umcomfortable in your school uniforms!

I believe we can do much better in SYF!

I know, I know. it's overloaded with seniors taking shots of themselves.

BUT, do try to spot yourself from the pictures! Laughs.

Honestly, we didn't do well this time round.

From the next practice onwards, do put in your best effort.

It's tiring, but hang in there.

Be happy with the results, don't leave regrets!

So, our SYF will be on 16th April. (correct me if I am wrong)
